New plant leaders announced at Basin Electric

Two new plant managers have been announced.

On June 30, Terry Ackerman began leading the team at Dry Fork Station near Gillette, Wyoming, and on July 29, Cory Bryngelson began leading the teams at Antelope Valley Station near Beulah, North Dakota, and Leland Olds Station in Stanton, North Dakota.

The plant manager position at Antelope Valley Station and Leland Olds Station became available after former plant manager Jason Cowan took a new role as director of generation excellence.

Ackerman is new to his role as Dry Fork Station plant manager, but he is not new to Basin Electric.

“I have been fortunate enough to work for Basin Electric for a little over six years now and to transition to the Dry Fork Station plant manager position,” Ackerman said. “Dry Fork Station is a well designed and built plant with a good staff. It has all the ingredients to be a valuable long-term generation resource for Basin Electric and its members, and I am proud to be part of the plant team.”

“For the last six years, Terry has proven himself as a valuable leader and team builder at the Deer Creek Station and our South Dakota Operations. Terry also has a great amount of knowledge and experience from working at nuclear and coal generating stations with Nebraska Public Power District that will help him in his role at Dry Fork Station,” Troy Tweeten, Basin Electric senior vice president of Generation, said.

Cory Bryngelson joins the cooperative with extensive industry experience.

“It is well known that Basin Electric is a leader in providing safe, environmentally friendly, and reliable power,” Bryngelson said. “Supplying energy to an expanding market of consumers is a challenge I wanted to be part of. I look forward to working with the talented group of individuals at the Antelope Valley and Leland Olds stations to continue serving our customers today and in the future.”

“Cory joins Basin Electric as plant manager of Antelope Valley Station and Leland Olds Station with vast industry experience and strong leadership skills. These, along with his interpersonal and communication skills, make him an ideal fit as the leader of these two stations,” Tweeten said. “I look forward to working with both Terry and Cory in their new roles to enhance team building with our employees and continue providing value to our members.”
