Basin Electric recently published its 2024 Sustainability Report representing the cooperative’s commitment to provide safely produced, reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy to its members across its nine-state service territory.
The report focuses on the essentiality of electricity and how Basin Electric continues to meet energy demands through a diverse portfolio of generation resources, while leading the way in carbon capture, utilization, and storage.
Sections of the report include updated information on Basin Electric’s dedication to environmental stewardship, serving its member-owners, and how those member-owners govern the cooperative model. There is also new information regarding the New ERA program and the Great Plains CO2 Sequestration Project at Dakota Gas.
“The Sustainability Report allows us to tell our own unique story,” Chris Johnson, Basin Electric senior vice president and chief financial officer, said. “Meeting future electricity demand requires a strong power supply strategy, and our all-of-the-above approach enables us to meet this need while simultaneously fostering greater energy diversity in the decades ahead.”
The Sustainability Report is available on basinelectric.com and basinmembers.com. A hard copy of the Sustainability Report will be mailed out with the 2024 Annual Report this coming spring.
