Basin Electric board authorizes safety resolution

Basin Electric board of directors authorized a safety resolution at the June board meeting held in Gillette, Wyoming. The resolution states that “the Cooperative family’s safety record year-to-date has shown a significant improvement over 2023 and in fact, there were no Days Away, Restricted, or Transferred incidents reported for the first quarter of 2024.”

“Basin Electric recognizes the importance of safety as the first objective mentioned in our Mission Statement,” Miles McGrew, senior vice president and chief Human Resources officer, said. “It’s also one of our six values. However, safety is just a word unless it is backed up with tangible results similar to what our employees have accomplished.”

The resolution goes on to congratulate employees on this accomplishment and acknowledge the effort and focus employees have demonstrated to make safety a core value of the Basin Electric culture.
