Basin Electric's paid internships are available in a variety of professional positions for students obtaining their degree. Internships typically occur during the summer months as full-time, but other opportunities may be available for students to work part-time while attending school.
Basin Electric, along with other utility companies, also works hand-in-hand with Bismarck State College's Power Plant Technology/Process Plant Technology Program. An internship has been implemented as part of the curriculum whereby students must intern at a power plant. This is a paid two-week only internship.

Cooperative Education Program
This program is designed to assist students in applying their education to productive work experiences in their field of study by offering full-time paid work instead of regular classes.
To be eligible for the Cooperative Education Program, students must take a semester or two away from college.
Basin Electric pays an allowance from credits received for Cooperative Education Program work experience. The maximum credits allowable per semester will be four.
