Bismarck is North Dakota's capital city. Home to more than 70,000 people, the Bismarck-Mandan area offers rural serenity with all the amenities of a city setting. Recreational activities are abundant, featuring some of the best fishing and hunting opportunities in North America. Other attractions include golf courses, bicycle trails, a community symphony and theater, cross-country ski trails, art galleries, museums and the Dakota Zoo.
Bismarck has an excellent public school system, several private schools, a two-year state college and a private four-year university.
Nestled on the banks of the Missouri River, the region is rich in history. The Lewis & Clark Expedition spent its first winter just 40 miles north of Bismarck.
Ft. Abraham Lincoln, six miles south of Mandan, ND, was the home to Gen. George Custer and the Seventh Calvary before its fateful march to the Battle of the Little Big Horn.
Beulah-Hazen, North dakota

Dry Fork Station, Basin Electric's newest baseload power plant, is located 7 miles north of Gillette, Wyoming.
Nearby are the Big Horn mountains, the Black Hills National Forest, and Devil's Tower in addition to hunting, fishing, rodeos, gun and car shows, and recreation areas.
Gillette has an historic downtown area, a Planetarium, Rockpile Museum, Wright Museum, and Science Center/Adventuriarium.
Wheatland, WYoming
The three units of the Laramie River Station are seven miles from Wheatland.
There are three major reservoirs in the Wheatland area. These reservoirs provide residents with an abundance of fishing, swimming, sailing and water sports. The Wheatland/Platte County area is near Glendo State Park, Guernsey State Park, Devil's Tower and the Black Hills.
The Oregon Trail is also close by in Guernsey.
Watford City, North dakota

Groton Generation Station, Basin Electric's first peaking station, is located near Groton, SD. Groton is a small community with a healthy business district and a large range of recreational activities. It is home to a swimming pool, ice skating rink, baseball/softball complex, soccer field, tennis courts, basketball court, city park with a playground and walking path, and a nine-hole golf course.
Culbertson, Montana
Culbertson Generation Station is a natural gas-fueled peaking unit located eight miles northeast of Culbertson, MT. Culbertson is a small community with access to the Missouri River, which means many areas for hunting, fishing, and other water activities. The city also has a swimming pool, museum, and park with a pavilion and overnight camping area.
