Through Basin Electric's Charitable Giving Program donations are dispersed each year to charities in the nine-state service territory. The Charitable Giving Committee meets periodically to evaluate funding requests.
Basin Electric also donates surplus office equipment such as computers, desks and chairs for organizations in need. Our charitable contributions fall under four categories that are vital to the growth and development of every successful community:
A portion of Basin Electric's Charitable Giving funds are also allocated as matching funds for donations made by member systems in our service territory.
Giving back to the organizations that help keep our communities strong and growing is important to Basin Electric and its subsidiaries as they are crucial to our survival and success. Without these programs and services our communities would not thrive as they do. Financial contributions are important to helping every organization function and continually develop.
Basin Electric's Charitable Giving Program is just one of the many ways we support the communities in which we work and live.
Dollars for Jeans
Through January 2008, Basin Electric's Dollars for Jeans Program raised $62,784 over a four-year period. This is a program in which Headquarters employees can wear jeans on Fridays by donating one dollar. The funds are donated to a designated charity in the community each week.
Basin Electric Headquarters also participates in a larger community Jean's Day for charity one week out of each month started by the local newspaper, the Bismarck Tribune. That program has raised more than
$1 million over 14 years.
